SHIELDED LAB
PRIMARY USE
The shielded lab isolates an entire room from the Earth's magnetic field, creating a safe and stable environment for material storage and measurement-taking.
CONSTRUCTION
The shielded lab is a multi-layered box of nickel-iron alloy called mu-metal or permalloy. It reduces the field inside the lab from ~60,000nT to 200nT.
SPECIAL
CONSIDERATIONS
The interior of the shielded lab must be kept free of magnetic sources, including the reasonable removable of all electronic and metal devices. Health considerations must be made for those with pacemakers.
